WHAT IS CHABAD?

Is Chabad a community? A philosophy? An exclusive club? Do you have to commit to a belief or observance in order to “be” Chabad?

At Chabad, we are all just Jews. We don’t judge who you are or what you do. Chabad is a way of life that sees every person as the center of the universe and every experience as a chance to improve the course of history.

Chabad… where young adults, families, seniors, and seekers of all ages come together and grow, connecting emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

Our center’s goal is that anyone who walks in off the street should feel like they’ve always belonged. That’s why we don’t have membership at Chabad. Because there isn’t anyone who isn’t a member.

OUR MISSION

As the only Jewish Organization in the Shelton, Monroe & Stratford area our first and foremost missions are:

To strengthen the Jewish community by promoting Jewish pride, education and celebration.

To provide for the spiritual & material needs of all Jews in the community – regardless of their background, affiliation or financial means, and to provide insight and explanation on Judaism’s history and universal values to our friends beyond the Jewish community who would like to learn more.

To establish a warm and traditional community Center where everyone is made to feel welcome and comfortable.

Our Motivation & Philosophy

Chabad is a global movement of Jewish education and community activism driven by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (Pictured below).

Motivated by a profound love for humanity and spurred by boundless optimism, the Rebbe lifted the global Jewish community from the ashes of the Holocaust and guided the establishment of an unprecedented range of Jewish institutions, outreach programs, and social services.
